What Is the 10% Handling Fee in Dropast?
When using Dropast’s purchasing service to source products from Taobao, Tmall, or 1688, a 10% handling fee is applied to the product price. This fee covers the administrative and operational work involved in purchasing products on your behalf and managing the order through to your warehouse or fulfillment pipeline.
💼 What the Handling Fee Covers
The handling fee is charged only if you use Dropast to purchase the product on your behalf. It covers:
- The manual handling and verification involved in placing marketplace orders
- Coordination with the seller (in Chinese)
- Monitoring domestic delivery to Dropast’s warehouse
- Ensuring the item is prepared correctly before international fulfillment or handoff
🧮 How the Fee Is Calculated
- The handling fee is 10% of the product's purchase price
- It is shown in RMB (Chinese Yuan) and also converted into your Shopify store’s currency
- Dropast uses the mid-market exchange rate to ensure accurate and fair currency conversion
Example:
Item Price (RMB) | Handling Fee (10%) | Total Handling Fee in RMB |
---|---|---|
¥100 | 10% | ¥10 |
📌 Important Notes
- This fee is not applied if you are only using Dropast to import and sync products without using the purchasing service
- The handling fee is separate from shipping fees
