How Is Product Cost Calculated in Dropast List?
In Dropast List section, the product cost shown reflects the real-time marketplace sale price — not the list price or discounted promotional rate — ensuring you base your decisions on the actual amount paid when sourcing from Taobao, Tmall, or 1688.
This article explains how product costs are determined and displayed in Dropast.
💰 What Does the Product Cost Represent?
The cost shown in your Dropast List:
- Reflects the actual sale price (not the original or listed price)
- Is shown in RMB (Chinese Yuan) and also converted into your Shopify store’s currency using the mid-market exchange rate
🔍 Example Scenario
Scenario | Value |
---|---|
Marketplace list price | ¥100 RMB |
Marketplace Discounted sale price | ¥70 RMB (active promotion) |
Dropast cost displayed | ¥100 RMB |
📌 Dropast uses ¥100 RMB as the cost value because it reflects the current price you’ll actually pay — excluding coupons or additional marketplace incentives.
📎 Important Notes
- Coupons Not Included: Marketplace coupon discounts are not factored into the displayed cost. The cost reflects the sale price available at the time of import or purchase.
- Currency Conversion: Dropast uses a mid-market exchange rate to convert the RMB price into your Shopify store’s currency automatically.
- Variants: Costs are calculated individually for each product variant based on its sale price in the marketplace.
