How to Export Products as Drafts to Shopify
Want to fine-tune your product details in Shopify before going live? Dropast allows you to export products in Draft status — whether you're exporting a single product or in bulk. This gives you the flexibility to review, edit, and publish products manually within your Shopify admin.
This article walks you through how to export your products as drafts using Dropast.
📝 What Is Draft Status?
Exporting a product as a Draft means it will:
- Be saved in your Shopify admin as a draft product
- Not be visible to customers until you manually publish it
- Allow you to edit details, update inventory, or assign sales channels before going live
🛠️ Step-by-Step: Exporting with Draft Status
Step 1: Navigate to Your Product List
Go to app.dropast.com, and open the “List” section where your imported products are displayed.
Step 2: Select Products
Choose the product(s) you want to export. You can export as single or multiple (bulk) products.
Step 3: Click “Export”
Click the “Export” button to begin the export process.
Step 4: Select “Export as Draft”
In the confirmation popup:
- Locate the “Export as Draft Status” checkbox
- Enable it to set your export to Draft mode
- Click “Confirm” to complete the export
Step 5: Check Shopify Admin
Once export is complete, your product(s) will appear in the Drafts section of your Shopify Products dashboard.
📝 Important Notes
- You can use “Export as Draft” in both single and bulk product exports
- Products exported as Draft are not live or visible in your store until you publish them
- Editing can be done directly in your Shopify admin before publishing
